A “Souper” Story…

Once upon a time...

After graduating from high school I had two careers in my path… I was passionate about the culinary arts as well as traveling the world. I decided to pursue the travel industry for 20 years and travelled the world.

I fell in love with my husband and his two boys in 2008 (lovely Newfie he is), we instantly fell head over heels and were engaged within 6 months, married within a year on a beautiful beach on FOGO Island NF (you have to look this beautiful place up) started a family and now we are a family of 7, love me a big family!

In 2013 my husband left his job of 13 years to manage the “Target” distribution warehouse and in 2015 most of us know how that ended...sucked! Sooo... this is how I started making soup from leftovers, it was always my comfort food and money was tight! Five months later our family was involved in a terrible car accident on 8th street and 40th Ave in Airdrie. We just left our home and we were struck with so much force that we flipped 3 times in our Suburban. We were SO lucky that day. We were, as a family, diagnosed with PTSD. We struggled through but unfortunately mine stuck around a bit longer as I was driving.

I channeled my fears into cooking, my ZEN! I started making home-made soups for neighbors, and they told their friends, communities, cities, non-profits, charities, homeless people, and Childrens Hospitals including the Ronald McDonald House. I was nicknamed The “Souper” Lady!

Canada in 2018. I had the opportunity to audition for MasterChef! There were 36 of us left, after hundreds that had auditioned, then at the end there were 10 of us left… I never made it to the show but WOW what an experience… met some many incredible home chefs!

I had to pursue my passion of cooking. Honestly with all the businesses in Airdrie as well as the surrounding area going out of business... I decided to develop my basement and install a second kitchen in my home. It took almost a year to complete, BUT I have finished my AHS inspected and city approved kitchen! Omg!

Many Local companies contributed and donated their time and labor to make this happen! So amazing to have that support!

So here it is...The “Souper” Kitchen! I can make ANY soup including PHO!
